Ring Type Joint

Ring Joint Gaskets are designed to seal by “initial line contact” or wedging action between the mating flange and the gasket. By applying pressure on the seal interface through bolt force, the softer metal of the gasket flows into the micro-fine structure of the harder flange material, creating a very tight and efficient seal.

LoneStar Ring Joint gaskets are manufactured in accordance with API-6A and ASME B16.20 specifications and come in four basic profiles:

R-Oval

  • Interchangeability: Compatible with both oval and octagonal grooves, allowing for versatility in flange applications.
  • Material Options: Available in a variety of materials, including soft metals like soft iron and more robust options like stainless steel, providing solutions for different pressure and temperature conditions.
  • Custom Manufacturing: Can be tailored to specific dimensions and pressure ratings to meet unique application needs.

R-Octagonal

  • Robust Design: The octagonal profile provides improved sealing performance by increasing the contact area between the gasket and flange.
  • Enhanced Durability: Designed to withstand high pressures and temperatures, making them suitable for challenging industrial environments.
  • Easy Installation: Engineered for straightforward installation, minimizing downtime during maintenance or assembly.

RX

  • Pressure-Energised Feature: The gasket’s design optimizes sealing effectiveness under increasing pressure, ensuring reliable performance in high-stress applications.
  • Reduced Leakage Potential: Improved sealing capability minimizes the risk of fluid leakage, enhancing system safety.
  • Compatibility: Can be used interchangeably with standard Style R gaskets, allowing for easy upgrades in existing systems.

BX

  • High-Pressure Resistance: Specifically designed for extreme pressure conditions (up to 20,000 PSI), making it ideal for high-performance applications.
  • Surface Contact Assurance: Allows for virtual surface-to-surface contact between flange faces, ensuring a tight seal even under high-stress conditions.
  • Pressure Balance Hole: The incorporation of a pressure balance hole aids in maintaining gasket integrity by preventing pressure buildup within the grooves.
